Things to know about your skin:

Oily skin is also called greasy skin because the sebaceous glands are very active and diligently produce skin fat (sebum). The most obvious feature of oily skin is its greasy sheen. Shortly after cleansing the face, oily skin shines again. Overall, the skin is thicker and less transparent than normal skin, so that blood vessels do not shine through. As a result, it often appears paler than normal skin, for example. The pores of oily skin are larger and clearly visible.

Your skin's impurities are the direct result of said excess sebum: sebum residues clog the pores and provide the perfect breeding ground for acne bacteria. A mix of sebum-reducing, clarifying and anti-inflammatory active ingredients is therefore part of our product recommendations. See also the extra tip below!

Your skin is also dehydrated, i.e. lacking moisture. This means that the skin's own moisture cannot be retained well. For this reason, moisturising from the outside is especially important. We have taken this into account in our product recommendations below.

Care recommendations and tips:

Oily skin should never be cleaned too aggressively. You will damage your skin barrier with consequences of sensitivity, dehydration, impurities and even more lipid production. Therefore, cleanse your oily skin with a mild cleanser in the morning and in the evening. Moisturising and moisturising skin care products are also important.

Oily skin needs more moisture than lipids, but you should not completely forgo lipid care. A light balm, fluid or cream-gel with plant oils and ceramides will strengthen your skin barrier after moisturising. Ingredients that regulate the skin's own lipid production and care with UV protection are indispensable.

Hair and hands have nothing to do with blemishes on the face, because they spread the acne bacteria. This is also called smear infection.

Towels (and pillowcases) are also true "superspreaders"; they should be changed accordingly frequently and regularly and washed at at least 60°.

Even pressing on pimples and blackheads is taboo - if you absolutely can't stop, the rule is: try twice at the most and cover your fingertips with tissues.

Unfortunately, there is no one miracle cure for dehydrated skin - it is rather a mix of several measures that moisturise your skin.

Besides skin care, these two are the most important: Drink a lot of water (yes, this also gets into the skin) and if the air in your room is dry (due to the heating in winter or the air conditioning in summer), make sure the air is well humidified, by using room humidifiers or simply a bowl of water on the radiator.

These HighDroxy products fit the bill:

1. face cleansing

Here, less is often more. Too much or frequent cleansing unnecessarily stresses the skin barrier and can worsen your skin's appearance in the long run. If we recommend several products at this point, you do not have to use them all together. You can find out more about the special features and the right combination on the product pages.

Mild peeling granules made of vegetable oils and waxes.

Soap-free, mild face wash gel. Gently foaming formula.

2. preparation

An often underestimated skin care step: toners or sprays moisturise the skin and make it more receptive to subsequent care products.
