An intact barrier layer is the be-all and end-all for healthy skin. It is your outer protective wall and has a complex task: It must be able to repel pollutants, bacteria and UV radiation at all times - but allow caring nutrients and moisture to pass through. At the same time, it keeps this moisture in the skin by preventing it from evaporating prematurely.
The skin barrier can only fulfill these complex tasks if it is optimally cared for. If, on the other hand, it is damaged, the skin's appearance inevitably deteriorates. Chronic skin irritations, impurities, rough or scaly skin, feelings of tightness or hyperpigmentation: these are all characteristics of a damaged skin barrier. Skin diseases such as rosacea, which have other causes, also interact with a damaged skin barrier.
The nourishing fluid BARRIER 22 from the RE:STORE series supports and regenerates the skin barrier in three ways: The patented plant-based lipid complex L22® is composed identically to the lipid film of young, healthy skin. This "putty" is supplemented by ceramides, which are encapsulated in liposomes together with hyaluron and squalane and can thus act particularly deeply in the skin.
In addition, a high-tech molecule is used, which is elaborately extracted from broom: It stimulates the self-healing of the skin barrier by accelerating the renewal of skin cells and simultaneously improves the microbiome on the skin surface.
Use RE:STORE BARRIER 22 like a serum, as step 3 of the four-step HighDroxy routine:
1. cleaner (e.g. the CALM CLEANSER)
2. toner (e.g. CALM ESSENCE)
3. RE:STORE BARRIER 22
4. day or night care.
Apply sparingly to the entire face or selectively (e.g. to dry, rough areas) and gently massage into the skin. There is no need to wait before applying the subsequent day or night care. If the application as a separate care step is too rich for you, you can alternatively add BARRIER 22 to your day or night cream.
What is the difference between BARRIER 22 and IN:FUSE?
The IN:FUSE is also a fluid in care step 3, but the two formulas differ significantly. IN:FUSE is much lighter and uses different active ingredients. Here, the focus is on immediate tightening and long-term firming of the skin in depth. BARRIER 22 is somewhat richer in texture and more immediately nourishing.
With which creams can I combine BARRIER 22?
You are completely free to choose your cream for step 4. Note that BARRIER 22 is a very rich serum. If you have rather oily skin, its lipid needs may already be largely covered by BARRIER 22. In that case, use a little less or switch to a slightly lighter cream. You can also add BARRIER 22 to the cream, so it can be dosed particularly sparingly.

Healthy skin produces many different lipid components such as triglycerides, squalene and sterols. Healthy, young skin keeps these lipid components in balance. With increasing age, however, the skin is often no longer able to maintain this balance.
The patented, plant-derived and non-comedogenic lipid complex L22® improves the restoration of skin barrier function by bringing all lipid components of the skin into a balance equivalent to that of a healthy young adult. Clinical studies show that L22® also improves skin elasticity, firmness and hydration, up to 80% more than conventional lipids.
Ceramides, squalane and hyaluron - they are all important components of the skin barrier. These 3 valuable components have been enclosed in a liposome by a unique water-free manufacturing process, which maximizes their activity. Another advantage of hyaceramidyl is that the hyaluronic acid it contains is only released on contact with the cell membrane, where it can fully develop its water-binding capacity. Free hyaluron cannot do this, as it already binds water in the emulsion.
